START-DS aims to improve the quality of education and training in schools through a virtuous, reflective and innovative use of digital, which can promote the well-being of students, teachers and school leaders
The Project mission is to improve and support the well-being, knowledge and awareness of students, teachers and school leaders in the use of smartphones as a tool for active and reflective transition towards a digital school. It aims to offer useful tools to respond to the specificities of schools in terms of deepening digital dynamics and individualised interventions. Pedagogy, psychology and technology run together to support the digital transformation of schools in Europe.
Our aims address digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity, keeping intertwined digital skills and competences, both affective and cognitive. The project involves students, teachers and school leaders in a collective reflection on technology to:
– develop new learning and teaching methods and approaches;
– find ways and best practices to ensure an use of digital that can encourage the development of soft skills of students and teachers by promoting activities that include digital support relationships and self-reflection;
– reduce the digital skills gap between teens and teachers;
– remodulate the digital immediacy that leads students to be less reflective and have fewer skills in managing emotions, promoting self-reflection, awareness and strengthening social ties through the creation and the dissemination of the Dear-IO application;
– support principals and teachers in managing the regulation of smartphones in school routines by the VOICE- DS Vademecum, a guide to facing the implications of the digital school and understanding the best modalities to face them.
